We source in-season and do a thorough sort to remove any debris or discolored seeds, so you get only the best.

     100% Natural & Whole: These are whole fennel seeds, cleaned and dried naturally, with no additives, salt, or oil. Being whole, they retain their oils until you release them (by crushing or cooking), which gives you a more potent flavor. We do not sulfur coat or artificially color our fennel (some low-grade fennel is given a green dye – you will NOT find that here). The slight variation in color of our seeds is natural, ranging from pale green to light brown, which actually is a good sign (truly neon-green fennel can be artificially enhanced).

     Aromatic & Sweet: Fennel seeds have a delightful aroma reminiscent of anise or licorice. Vaahe fennel is particularly sweet on the palate due to the high anethole content (the compound that gives licorice flavor).
